    It was in 1932 when Lafayette Allen Sr. and his wife, Edith, founded their first supermarket on Alford Street in Inkster. The store was featured in the Michigan Chronicles, Jet Magazine and Ebony after being titled the “World’s largest Negro-owned food store operation.” 22 years later, they relocated to their current store at 3760 Inkster Road. The building still stands and is in operation today, once again under black ownership.

    This six card slot, one bill compartment bifold wallet is embossed with the old signage in vegan leather. The lining print is our take on the classic roulette wheel.
